The Hospital Hill Economic Development Corporation (HHEDC) is focused on
urban economic development in the immediate area around Hospital Hill
near downtown Kansas City. The HHEDC targets development in a three
square mile area bordered on the west by Main Street, the north by 18th
Street, the east by Prospect Avenue, and the south by 31st Street.
Why Hospital Hill?
This area encompasses major transportation thoroughfares like Troost
Avenue, 31st Street, and US Hwy 71. It also boasts major medical
assets including Truman Medical Centers, Children’s Mercy Hospital
and Clinics, and UMKC’s Schools of Medicine and Dentistry. This
